The notebook resembles a leather bill fold and fits nicely into your pocket. It takes mini spiral and composition books so it can be refilled on the cheap. You have to trim the front and back covers of the notepads so they fit. Mini notepads tend to fall apart when I carry them around in my pocket, and this helps keep them protected.
The big problem is the pouches for inserting notepad covers. The pouch only extends half way across the cover resulting in an uneven writing surface. The leather is fairly thick so this ridge is pronounced near the front and back pages of the notepad. The leather pouch should be extended all the way to the spine to provide a flat writing surface behind every page.

I like to jot down thoughts during the day of things I need to do, and typing them in my phone in a todo list didn't last very long, but when I use a notepad, I'm more apt to use it.
I decided to try this notebook, and am impressed because of how thick the leather is and that the notebook is refillable with a standard size notebook pad.
It would be better if it came with a bookmark, but I just end up using my pen to keep my place.
The notebook is "Pocket sized" but more for bigger pockets. The leather has shown a little wear as I've tossed it about, but it still looks good. It's also handy for taking short notes if I'm listening to a presentation.

Growing up in an upholstery shop I learned to recognize and appreciate the craftsmanship and quality of materials that go into hand crafted products. I am impressed with the quality and craftsmanship of this notepad. Lately I have been using this journal a lot, it's great for jotting down ideas, phone numbers, and making grocery lists. It easily fits in my purse or back pocket allowing me to write down any ideas that come to mind. This journal is especially useful to write down ideas, or thoughts while on the go. I recommend this journal to those looking for a durable notepad for daily use.

i replaced a jotter note book that i lost with this one,you have to cut down 3x5 wire notebooks so it fits in slot just the cardboard cover!
i have it & will live with it.also no pen holder>thats why the wire ring pad is used.

OK so this is a really nice and small pocket notebook cover. It is made in USA and 100% leather and smells amazing. The only thing is that the mini book that you would buy for it is slightly bigger so what you can do is to cut the notebook's cover slightly on the one side and it will fit perfectly. But it is very elegant and awesome.
