Leather too thick Mar 28, 2010 Nice leather. Good craftsmanship, however not as refined as I would have liked. Leather too thick and leather keeper hard to insert under slot.
Completely Disappointed Mar 04, 2010 I had a tough time decidng which color to get, and from the nice picture I decided to go with the saddle-brown. BIG mistake. I am used to the fact that pictures on amazon are lighter in color than the real thing, due to the way the exposure happens, but this is NOT EVEN CLOSE. The picture clearly shows a warmer-color, lighter leather similar to saddle-leather. I have seen real saddles, and this is not that color leather. The actual item has none of the slight color variation shown in the picture, no texture (besides looking like it was painted on), just a uniform, plain brown, almost marroon tinted. I am not even unwrapping it, I am sending it back ASAP. Worst let down in quite a while. I'm posting a picture just so no-one else gets duped into buying this thing. The only real reason it earns 2 stars is because it does appear to actually be leather, so it is not completely false advertising.

Beautiful Leather Checkbook Cover Aug 12, 2009 If you're like me and want to add a little style and class to all things basic, this is a beautifully crafted checkbook cover. It's made from high-quality leather and has matching stitching around the perimeter. There is a buckle of sorts (leather strap slides through slits cut in the cover top) that adds some personality.
It works great; however, the first time I inserted my checkbook I had a little trouble fitting it in straight. I simply tore the bottom corner off the back paper flap of my checkbook, and it slid right into place. I haven't had any trouble with it coming out. It seems to fit just right now.
