I was pleasantly surprised at how big the journal is. It has a very rustic feel to it and the leather is soft. I purchased the buckskin version and really like it. The pages are thick and are rough around the edges. There are a lot of pages for writing, and I like the unique look. I have a couple different types of old style journals and this one is definitely unique with the wrap and the extended cover. I wish I would have had this with me when I went on a horseback riding trip in September to write down the events of the trip, but oh well, there's always next time. Overall, I really like it, now I just need to take another trip where I can use it (as opposed to using it to record my grocery list).

It is a very nice journal and I will buy another one, the only thing is that the super saver shipping is super slow, it took 11 days to arrive. I have gotten compliments from everyone who has seen it. The leather is nice and thick, not flimsy like others I have seen. I really can't say enough about it, I will be ordering more.

I love how this looks and the pages inside. I bought it as a personal journal... unfortunately, my journalling kind of died out, but it still looks wonderful on the shelf. This is a rugged looking journal and would be great for travelling, or something Hemingwayesque.
